  • Is there waiting list?
  • Kindergarten is typically filled to capacity early in the registration season. When a class is filled, prospective families may place their name on a waiting list.
  • Is there a required uniform?
  • Yes there is, please refer to the ICS Uniforms flyer for further information.
  • What is the school's curriculum?
  • Immaculate Conception School provides a strong, thorough curriculum in all subject areas including the basic subject areas of religion, math, language arts, handwriting, science and social studies. In addition to these subjects the curriculum includes computer, vocal music, physical education, library and instrumental music (4th-6th).
  • What if my family is not Catholic?
  • At the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks, we welcome families of all religious faiths and backgrounds. Traditional Christian values are part of each aspect of our school curriculum and activities. Religion and the tenets of the Catholic faith are taught at every grade level. The teachers and staff do not try to convert students or families to Catholicism. All students must attend and participate in weekly Mass and religious activities.
  • How much is tuition?
  • ICS tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $3,530 for Kindergarten through 6. Pre-Kindergarten tuition is $3,230.
  • Can we visit the school?
  • Parents and potential students are encouraged to come and tour the school, talk with administrators and learn more about what makes this such an exemplary Catholic school. Contact the ICS office at 456-4574 or the Monroe Foundation office at 456-7970 to arrange your visit.
  • What is the school's daily schedule?
  • ICS and Monroe students begin and end their days at the same time.
    Doors open at 7:30 a.m.
    The school day begins at 8:00 a.m.
    The school day ends at 2:20 p.m.
  • Do you have an after school program?
  • The Catholic Schools of Fairbanks offer a state accredited after school program to school families. The program is open from 2:20 a.m. - 6:00p.m. M-F at a cost additional to tuition. Students are provided with many activities, homework help and a snack.
  • Do you offer bus service?
  • Students at the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks can take advantage of the public schools' bussing service. To find or arrange a stop near you, contact the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District's Transportation office at 452-2000.
  • Do you offer hot lunch or milk?
  • ICS does not offer a hot lunch program. Milk can be purchased for $45.00 for the entire school year.
  • Do you require volunteer hours?
  • Parents are encouraged to participate in the schools by volunteering 36 hours per family each year.
  • What activities does ICS offer?
  • ICS offers many of the activities that students in the Fairbanks public schools enjoy. Contact the administration for a list of current activities.
  • When does registration begin for first-time families?
  • New families who would like to enroll immediately may begin the process at any time. Registration for those looking to enroll their child(ren) for the start of a new school year begins at the Open House each spring. Open house for the 2008-09 school year is Aril 3, 2008.   • What is the registration process?
  • The registration process is broken into four steps:
    1. An application must be filled out and submitted with $25.00 to the school.
    2. An interview with you and your child(ren) will be scheduled with the school principal.
    3. Families will be contacted regarding acceptance to the school.
    4. Upon acceptance, an appointment will be arranged to fill out a Tuition Agreement Form and other necessary paperwork.
