Athletics - Softball
We will work to be the best softball program we can be by developing a strong team and strong team players through positive attitude and training in the fundamentals of fastpitch softball. We will provide the foundation, training, and opportunities necessary for our girls to play at a high level, build confidence, and positive attitudes. We are dedicated to the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, leadership, building self-esteem, and a positive self-image.
In addition to teaching and reinforcing fundamental skills, we foster core values of commitment, work ethic, respect, excellence, and fun. These skills carry over into every area of life and make our team unique and supportive of each individual.
We are committed in our efforts and talents to ensure the success of the program. Life (and sports) is about individual sacrifices. We will not compromise how hard we practice or play. We are passionate about the game of softball. We will play every out, inning, and game with heart.
2. Work Ethic
We will strive everyday to be the best we can be. No matter how hard the previous day was, we will never give up. “You can’t have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time.” Charles Kettering
We will be a team that has respect for each individual on the team, knowing that each member is essential to our collective success. In softball it is a team effort. “Be respectful and honest, learn to make the right choices, how to love and care for yourself so that you have the strength to love and care for others.” Lorena Hegdal
We will pursue excellence in practice, competition, in the classroom, and in our daily lives. We understand we are always learning and therefore always continue to seek improvement.
As a team we will encourage each player to always do her best in the pursuit of excellence. This does not just apply to softball, but in all areas of life.
There is a time to be serious and there is a time to laugh. We will strive to have fun each day that we are together.
“The true measure of success in life is not money, fame, or power; its laugh lines.” Unknown
“Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.” Michael Jordan
“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.” John Wooden
“Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear.” George Addair
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.” Henry Ford
“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” Jim Rohn
