My Student of the Week is Ryan Brantley. As the year has progressed, Ryan has demonstrated time and again that he is closely aligned to the Jesuit pillars; most especially being Open to Growth, Intellectually Competent, and Loving. In class, Ryan is not hesitant to ask for clarification or explanations of topics that are often far-removed from the day-to-day experiences of a high school senior. Ryan is able to take this information and make connections between differing ideas and form his own understanding. As a caring young man who is always eager to help others with a welcoming smile and a genuinely open heart, Ryan takes time to visit his Kindergarten Buddies (yes, he has two!) throughout the week, not just on Buddy days. He approaches them with open arms and a smile as big as the sun. Ryan does not just learn about the pillars, he lives them out daily.
Congratulations to ALL of our students for entering a project in this year's Science Fair!

My choice for student of the week is 7th grader Nicole Kelly.
As a student in my Computer Applications class Nicole is always prepared, she listens to instructions and she alway gives her best effort. I have never had a discipline issue with Nicole and she gets along with all of her peers. Nicole is a good student, a good citizen and she has made a successful transition from ICS to Monroe Junior High.
I am happy to have her as part of my class.
Student of the week: Grace Hodges
Positivity is an admirable quality. Remaining so, in the face of adversity, however, is truly remarkable. Despite physical setbacks that have prohibited her from playing basketball, a sport she loves, Grace’s energy in class and at school has never wavered. Her enthusiasm to compete is second to none. In fact, It forced me to remove her from a few PE classes. She was playing so hard I worried she may re-injure herself. It is rare to see a teenager whom needs to be de-motivated. Grace’s consistency not only manifest itself in her approach towards sports, but also in how she treats others. She is a great student, classmate, and friend.
