Coach Kristy Parrish
Coach Kristy Parrish started coaching volleyball at Monroe in the spring of 2013 as the head coach of the 8th grade team. In the fall she coached the Junior Varsity team and assisted Coach Obermeyer on Varsity. Prior to moving to Alaska, Coach Parrish started coaching volleyball in San Jose, CA, in 2006, where she was the head coach at Downtown College Prep for two seasons, Junior Varsity coach at Valley Christian High School for three seasons, and a coach for Stingray Volleyball Club for five years.
Parrish is a four-time Division II State Champion from St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, OH, where she grew up. She also played club volleyball for six years starting in 6th grade, and it has always been her favorite sport. Currently Parrish is also a CrossFit Level 1 certified coach and has trained at CrossFit Fairbanks since 2011. She enjoys curling at Fairbanks Curling Club as well. Her husband Jimmy and her very active toddler Samuel keep her busy at home and sometimes make appearances at volleyball games, too. |
