Monroe Foundation, Incorporated

Monroe Foundation, Inc. is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID #93-0747034). Its sole purpose is to support and advance the goals and programs of the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks.

We have been blessed with the generosity of our alumni, parents, grandparents, local businesses and friends. These blessings are not taken for granted. Thank you.

History of Monroe Foundation, Inc.
Monroe Foundation was founded in 1958, receiving its name in honor of Fr. Francis Monroe, S.J. The Foundation operated until 1965 when the untimely death of Bishop Boileau, S.J. rendered the foundation a passive entity. In 1968, Bishop Whelan, S. J. assigned Fr. McGuigan, S.J. to Sacred Heart Cathedral and asked that he reactivate the Monroe Foundation and serve as its Executive Director. Fr. McGuigan initiated the Monroe Foundation's first HIPOW Auction in 1970. Since then, HIPOW has grown to become one of the largest fundraisers for the schools. This monumental event is held annually in October.
