The Board of Directors, with Bishop Chad Zielinski's approval, has selected Mrs. Amanda Angaiak, the Principal of our Immaculate Conception School, to be the Director of Schools/President of Monroe Foundation, Inc. beginning in July 2019.
As teacher, student, parent, administrator, and professor, Mrs. Angaiak has a proven passion for Catholic education. In her 20 years with the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks, she has consistently demonstrated her deep commitment to Jesus Christ and to the schools; to the Catholic-Jesuit mission of the schools, to the families, to the students, and to the faculty. In fact, Mrs. Angaiak played an integral role in the 2010 decision to reconnect with the schools’ Jesuit roots, which led to the schools being endorsed by the Society of Jesus-Oregon Province-in 2013. In addition to her strong background in Catholic education (see bio below), Mrs. Angaiak has a clear understanding of the mission and work of Monroe Foundation, Inc. (Little known fact: Amanda and her husband Michael produced the HIPOW “Fund the Vision” video for nine years.) She has a good knowledge of our donor base, including alumni. Mrs. Angaiak and Mrs. Hanson will each remain in their current positions throughout the 2018-2019 school year. This will give them the opportunity to work together on this transition. Please join the Board of Directors in congratulating, thanking, and praying for Mrs. Angaiak as she moves into this new role.
