![]() Welcome to another great week at CSF! Please view the Happenings to keep up to date with current and future events. Each year schools from throughout the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District come together to perform for Music in Our Schools Month. Music in Our Schools Month was started to remind people of the importance of music education in the development of the whole person and support it being an important part of the school curriculum. The Catholic Schools fo Fairbanks was invited to attend this year’s event and we sent four students: Elsa Weekly, Will Simard, Madison Morris, and Melora James.
The band concert at Hering Auditorium on March 5 featured one middle school and two high school groups. Each group was conducted by a teacher or teachers from the local school district. All groups had to do extra rehearsals during or after school to prepare for the concert. Madison and Melora performed three pieces with the Middle School Band. Both students played well and were fantastic representatives for the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks. Will and Elsa performed in the orchestra concert on March 7 in Hering Auditorium. Elsa played with the middle school group, conducted by three different teachers from the district and Will performed with the Chamber Orchestra conducted by Cheryl Frey, a beloved orchestra teacher who retired from the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District two years ago. Both groups had challenging music, but it all came together beautifully in the performance. Both evenings were thoroughly enjoyable and a reminder of the power and beauty of music and the profound effect it can have on people and to the development of the whole person. Thank you to the students and parents for the their continued support of music in all of our schools. ![]() Congratulations and Thank You to those who "Shared the Love" and participated in our Open House Referral Program.
