![]() Our 7th-11th graders will be participating in standardized testing on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Testing room assignments will be posted here at school for the students on Monday. As in years past, we’ll not allow students to use calculators. After discussion with Mr. Riggs, we’ll also not be allowing students to have their iPads out at during break time or if they finish a particular testing section early - it’s too distracting for students who are still testing. Instead, students should bring a book, some doodling, or some homework to work on if they finish a section early. MCHS utilizes test results to inform instruction, monitor student growth over time, compare student performance with national groups, and evaluate programs and effectiveness of curricular changes. Test results do not have an impact on a student’s grades and/or their ability to move on to the next grade level. The school will receive test scores at the end of May. These scores will indicate how your student performed on the tests compared with students across the nation in the same grade. Discuss the test results with your student, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me :) Thank you very much for encouraging and supporting your student during testing. peace, Annie Krause, M.
