![]() My Student of the Week is Silas Hughes. I had never met Silas before I started teaching Junior High Social Studies this semester. I remember my first impressions were that I was going to have some challenging days with Silas. I have seen growth and maturity in this young man and must confess that Silas has become one of my most productive students in both my US History and Geography classes. Silas has improved his grades each quarter of this year in History. He started out the year as an average student but now has a 97% in History and 101% in Geography. He not only has improved his grade but has helped other students to be more on task and attentive during class. I appreciate the fact that Silas comes to class each day with a good attitude and a smile on his face. Silas has a good sense of humor and shares it with his classmates readily. But he has the good sense to know when its time to work and when its time to play. I appreciate the effort Silas has made to be a better student. I hope that he continues to be a good friend to his classmates and hone his leadership skills in the classroom and on the ice. Keep up the good work! Mr. Fantazzi |
