There were comments today from both faculty and staff on how to make a editable copy of a google doc that was shared view only.  

This is a popular method faculty uses to share files with students, and then get them to make copies, edit, and send back to the teacher.

The google drive app on the iPads does not allow users to make a copy of a view only document within the app.  

There is a simple work-around to this, by using the method students use on the laptops.  You simply use safari or chrome to log into google docs, and make a copy the same way you do on a laptop.
